-  Five salt solutions of a suitable range for the tissue to be used, e.g. 0.1 mol dm⁻³, 0.3 mol dm⁻³, 0.5 mol dm⁻³, 0.7 mol dm⁻³, 0.9 mol dm⁻³ for onions.
