Abstract:
Effect of different solute concentrations on osmosis in potato chips (using mass measurement).
Hints & Tips:
- In this experiment potatoes are cut into equal sized cylinders using a cork borer or if you have many groups use a potato chipper. Prepare this in advance, it saves lesson time and potato waste.
- If students are to use cork borers, they should be shown how to use them.
- Knives or solid scalpels are best for this activity and use a tile or small cutting board.
