Abstract:
Use a light microscope to observe, draw and label a selection of plant and animal cells. A magnification scale must be included.
Hints & Tips:
- Demonstrate and allow students time to practice wet slide preparation techniques.
- Prevent iodine stains by using bench protectors; quickly wipe or use 1M sodium thiosulfate for stain removal.
- Opt for solid scalpels and provide cutting tiles for onions to ensure safety.
