AQA RP8: Plant Responses (Germination)
Abstract:
Investigate the effect of light or gravity on the growth of germinating seeds (record length measurements and biological drawings).
Alternative 1: Investigate the effect of light wavelength on the growth of mustard seedlings.
Hints & Tips:
- Mustard seeds are recommended as they are bigger and easier to handle but others, such as: cress seeds, could be used instead.
- Use fresh seeds as old seeds may not germinate as well.
- Seeds germinate well on cotton wool.
- Seeds will require a day or so to germinate (depending on how warm it is).
