Hints & Tips:

- Dissolve virkon in warm water. you can make this before the practical, but if it has gone clear before the practical, discard it and make it fresh (it will no longer be viable).

- Waste material can be discared in the normal refuse as long as it is wrapped in newspaper and double bagged in or put in a thick plastic bag beforehand. Make sure no instruments get left in with the discarded specimen.

- A reference diagram can help students identify structures.
